Fairytale LDS Wedding in Lindon, Utah
Katja and Cam fell in love — and married — in Utah, but that's not where they met. More than a year before their first date, they met in... wait for it, Ukraine.
Katja, who was raised in Germany by her German father and Russian mother, was living in Ukraine while her father served as a mission president for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Cam, an American, was — you guessed it — one of the missionaries in Katja's area.
Fast forward a bit, and the two of them are both at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah — not far at all from the Draper LDS temple, where they sealed the deal and became husband and wife.
I met Katja way back in 2010, while I was living and working in Frankfurt, Germany. I was dating the older brother of one of her best friends (spoiler alert: I married the guy) and got to know Katja over the time I lived there.
At that point, neither of us had a clue we'd both be living in Utah years later, and that I'd be there to capture these treasured memories for her. (Side note: Can you spot my sister-in-law among the bridesmaids?)
After their ceremony in Draper, Katja and Cam celebrated with their friends and family at Wadley Farms in Lindon, Utah. I'm pretty sure if you look up "fairytale venue" in the dictionary, this is the place that would come up. The place comes complete with a gorgeous cottage, vineyards, and — get this — a castle, with the Rocky Mountains as a breathtaking backdrop.
